A teenage victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition after being stabbed Monday in Northridge. Officers responded to the 9600 block of Balboa Boulevard, near Plummer Street, around 5:05 p.m. to reports regarding a stabbing victim, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. It was unclear what motivated the stabbing moments before the suspect fled the scene. Detectives described the suspect as a man in his 50s, last seen wearing a dark-colored beanie and jacket. The suspect was a transient, according to NBC4. The boy was stabbed in the stomach in a church’s playground, Fox11 reported. The investigation into the stabbing continued Monday evening.

A man who suffered a head injury in a fight outside Outlaws Bar last month has died, according to the Atascadero Police Department. The incident was reported shortly before 2 a.m. on November 24. Police say first responders arrived at the scene to find 30-year-old Lucky Thomas of Atascadero unconscious in the bar’s parking lot. Police say Thomas fell and hit his head when someone stepped in to break up the altercation. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. On Wednesday, November 27, police were notified that Thomas had passed away. Police say there were witnesses to the altercation and they are asking anyone with further information, videos or pictures related to this incident to contact Sgt. Netz at (805) 470-3252.

Pervez Taufiq and his young family had just landed at LAX and were almost at the end of a long travel week when a fellow passenger began berating them with racist comments. Taufiq, a well-known photographer, recorded the encounter as it took place on their United Airlines shuttle bus. “Your family is from India,” the woman says to him. “You have no respect. You have no rules. Do you think you can push everyone, push push. That’s what you think you are.” In an interview with KTLA’s John Fenoglio, Taufiq says the woman in the video was on their flight and at one point had started asking their 11-year-old son whether he was from India. “She looked at our sons – that’s two younger ones which are four and eight – and basically started saying shut up to them, just shut up, and so, to say that really made me snap and I said you can’t talk to my sons that way,” explains Taufiq. Staycee Dains has resigned as general manager of Los Angeles Animal Services after being on paid leave since August, Mayor Karen Bass’ office confirmed Monday. A spokesperson for Bass told City News Service Dains resigned effective Saturday. City officials had not explained the reason for her absence. Annette Ramirez, who led Los Angeles Animal Services on an interim basis for a year and half prior to Dains’ appointment in 2023, again began leading the department in September. Dains, who formerly led Long Beach’s animal services department, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Dains addressed issues related to volunteers during her tenure but still faced overcrowding and other challenges at the department’s six shelters, some have plagued the department long before her arrival. A recent Los Angeles Times analysis found about 1,224 dogs were euthanized, an increase of 72%, from January to September compared to the same period last year. Some 1,517 cats were euthanized, also a 17% increase from 2023. The mayor’s office noted that about 25,000 animals were adopted or rescued from the city’s six animal shelters, representing a 17% increase

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell will be introduced by the Dodgers Tuesday at Dodger Stadium three days after agreeing to terms on a five-year, $182 million contract. ESPN had reported Tuesday that Snell and the Dodgers had agreed on a contract, pending a physical, which includes opt-outs, some deferred money and a $52 million signing bonus. A 35-year-old man in San Bernardino County has been arrested after authorities say an investigation found he had inappropriate online communication with a minor.   The investigation, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, began in Oct. 2023 after detectives with the department’s crimes against children detail received a tip from the Department of Children and Family Services that the 35-year-old was engaging in illegal behavior with a 16-year-old.   Irish pub in Orange County asks for stolen sign back, no questions asked Investigators identified the suspect as Chino Hills resident Timothy Holub, who went by the online screen name “httechtims5.”   “During the online communication, Holub asked the minor to engage in lewd acts,” the release stated.   Timothy Holub, 35, a resident of Chino Hills. Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Oscar-winning actor-director Clint Eastwood, will avoid criminal charges following her October arrest on suspicion of domestic violence, the Los Angeles district attorney’s office confirmed. Eastwood, a 31-year-old actor whose credits include “Twin Peaks” and “Juror #2,” was arrested Oct. 12 in Beverly Hills on suspicion of felony domestic violence, according to police. She was released on $50,000 bail. A week later, prosecutors declined her case for insufficient evidence. Police did not release specifics about the arrest. TMZ reported that a drive around Beverly Hills allegedly turned into a verbal, then physical, argument between Eastwood and her boyfriend, and the “Mrs. Eastwood & Company” reality TV star was subsequently arrested.
