Person falls from Sixth Street bridge onto 15 Freeway in Norco

A person fell from the Sixth Street bridge onto the 15 Freeway in Norco on Tuesday, April 18.
The California Highway Patrol received a report about a person possibly threatening to jump from the bridge at 12:47 p.m., said Officer Dan Olivas, but the person had fallen to the freeway before officers arrived.
Riverside County sheriff’s Deputy Michael Vásquez didn’t have specifics about the person’s condition except that as of an hour after the report came in, the person was still alive.
The two left-hand southbound lanes were open, but a SigAlert was issued for the right-hand lane.
As of 1:30, traffic was backed up beyond Ontario Ranch Road. Olivas said he did not know how long traffic would be affected.
