Warrant suspect barricades himself in Moreno Valley home

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department had Moreno Way at Corley Court cordoned off in Moreno Valley on Wednesday morning as they tried to coax out a barricaded suspect from one of the homes.
Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Mike Vasquez had little initial information, but said it all began with the attempted service of a warrant in the area.
He didn’t know what or who the warrant was for or what time the incident began. It was also unknown if there was anyone else in the home at the time according to Vasquez.
Armored vehicles from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and members from the California Highway Patrol’s gang unit were at the scene about 8:30 a.m.
Jeff LeBean, who lives across the street from Corley Court home stood among neighbors watching sheriff’s vehicles pass by.
He said he had returned from work around 6:30 a.m. when police vehicles began arriving. He said officials began to announce “come out with your hands up” and “we have a warrant.”
He said his neighbors on Corley were asked to leave their homes – some of them without the chance to get dressed first – before the street was blocked off by police tape.
By about an hour later, he said he thought they were still looking for that suspect.
