More efficiency sought in processing Lake Elsinore land-use projects

Proposed changes aimed at improving the speed at which land-use projects are processed in Lake Elsinore are scheduled for the Planning Commission’s consideration at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 18 in the Lake Elsinore Cultural Center, 183 N. Main St.
The commissioners are expected to review and comment on several innovations recommended by Principal Planner Justin Kirk.
He proposes creating the position of zone administrator. The administrator would have the authority of approving minor design applications that now require reviews by the commission.
Also, he is recommending some technical tweaks to the city’s general plan , which is its master guide to land-use, as well as the addition of an appeals section in the municipal code and modifications to the code’s design review section.
