TV tonight: ‘Live From Comic-Con’ updates airing on Syfy

TV picks for Thursday, July 20
“George Best: All By Himself” (8 p.m., ESPN): This latest installment of the “30 for 30” documentary series recounts the tale of the beloved but bedeviled soccer superstar George Best. He was one of the greatest players of all time — a handsome, charismatic lad from Belfast, Northern Ireland, who worked wonders with the ball and thrilled Great Britain. But Best was also the lead in a Shakespearean tragedy fueled by drink and excess and depression until his death in 2005.
“Growing Up Hip Hop” (9 p.m., WEtv):  The heirs of hip hop legends seek to cement their royal status in the cutting, treacherous music industry during the third season of the popular unscripted series. For Romeo Miller (Master P’s son), his return home from filming “Empire” forces him to face his dad who sends him back to his roots in New Orleans to teach him a lesson. But when the ultimate betrayal from his right-hand man turned snake-in-the-grass sparks a brutal confrontation, the empire is put in major danger.
“The Night Shift” (10 p.m., NBC): Drew, his mom (guest star Becky Ann Baker), and Rick’s (guest star Luke MacFarlane) flight home turns into a medical crisis at 35,000 feet when passengers become sickened.
“Syfy Live From Comic-Con” (11 p.m., Syfy): This annual geek-out in San Diego, hosted this year by Zachary Levi, looks to feed fan passion with news from the ‘con, exclusive content, first looks and interviews with franchise stars and creators in order to provide a fully immersive experience for the viewer. The show will air for three nights, through Saturday.
