STANFORD UNIVERSITY — A woman told police she was raped early Wednesday morning at Stanford University.

The alleged rape occurred about 1:30 a.m. at a student residence on the west side of campus, police said.
The suspect and victim are acquaintances, police said.
The victim described the suspect as a light-skinned black man, 6 feet 3 inches tall, 180 pounds and about 53 years old, police said. He also had brown hair and brown eyes.
Additional details about the alleged rape were not immediately available Wednesday night.
