Crews Responding To Fire Near Auburn, Mandatory Evacuations Ordered

AUBURN (CBS13) – Crews are responding to a fire near Auburn early Thursday afternoon.
The scene is near Kilham Road and the Upper Stagecoach Trail in the Auburn State Recreation Area.
A large plume of smoke can be seen coming from the area. Cal Fire says structures are threatened.

The fire is burning on top of a hill. About four to five acres are burning.
Mandatory evacuations have been issued for the following areas, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office says: Oak Haven Road, Flood Road in canyon, Woodland Place, Lamborn Lane, Temple Drive, Tierra Way, Mountain Avenue and Sierra Way.
