Fire Erupts at Small Apartment Building in Oakland

Firefighters were battling a blaze in a small apartment building in East Oakland Thursday afternoon, according to fire officials. Fire officials first reported the fire in the 7800 block of Ney Avenue on social media at about 2:40 p.m. However, other social media posts indicate the blaze started much earlier. 9 Hospitalized After Head-On Crash in Brentwood The fire appears to have started in the second floor of a four-unit apartment building. Flames could be seen shooting out the second-floor windows. No additional information was immediately available.
