Pasadena leaders discuss long-term solutions to prevent suicide at the Colorado Street Bridge

PASADENA >> Colorado Street Bridge's iconic span is undergoing changes designed to prevent suicides, but weighing heavily on local officials' minds is how to achieve safety while maintaining the bridge's timeless aesthetic. The four members of the City Council's public safety committee - Mayor Terry Tornek and Councilmen John Kennedy, Tyron Hampton and Steve Madison - met Wednesday night and examined suicide mitigation measures in use at the Prince Edward Viaduct in Toronto and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, among others.
