What Kardashian curse? Tristan Thompson shops for a mansion with Khloe Kardashian

It looks like Tristan Thompson isn’t too worried about the notorious Kardashian curse — even though his play was underwhelming for the first three games of the NBA Finals and his Cleveland Cavaliers couldn’t pull it together to win more than one game and lost the championship to the Golden State Warriors.
Tristan is apparently pretty serious about Khloe Kardashian, so much so that the Ohio-based player is looking for a place to live in Los Angeles during the off-season. Thompson, 26, and Khloe, 33, have been dating since September.

TMZ reported that the couple toured Los Angeles luxury rentals this week. They were spotted checking out a sporty $9 million home in Studio City that boasts a backyard basketball court, putting green, lap pool and fully equipped gym.
Even though the couple don’t look like they’re moving in together — not yet anyway — Tristan’s decision to set up a West Coast base for himself definitely signals that they’ve reached another milestone in their relationship. So apparently does the two of them going to the dentist together. On Thursday, Khloe Snapchatted their “maintenance day” trip to have their oral health care needs addressed, the Daily Mail reported.
On the June 11 season finale of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Khloe gushed about how she and her Canadian boyfriend have talked about starting a family together. Tristan already has a son, born December 12, to an ex-girlfriend.
“He wants to have five or six kids with me and that’s lovely. We could start at one and grow from there,” Khloe said.
But she also admitted she’s not on birth control, which is likely to give more fuel to any pregnancy rumors that come up. “It’s like — it’s scary,” Khloe said.
You would think things would be scary for Tristan, given that he’s immersing himself in a reality TV family that 1) likes lots and lots of drama and attention 2) isn’t known to be the healthiest environment for members of the male species, especially if they are athletes.
Even the youngest Kardashian sister, 19-year-old Kylie Jenner, addressed the so-called curse in a 2016 episode of the family’s TV show.
“The Kardashian curse is every male figure that comes and dates a Kardashian — their life kind of just goes down hill after that,” Kylie said.
It’s hard to know if Kylie was joking but there have been plenty of men whose careers or personal lives have suffered from their association with a Kardashian woman. Just consider the spotty work history, weight challenges and social media meltdowns of Kardashian scion Rob Kardashian Jr.
The “curse” goes back to at least 2000, when Kim Kardashian, now 36, dated NFL player Reggie Bush. Some say the curse continued in 2003 when Ray J was blasted by the public after his 2007 sex tape with Kim was leaked. And then there was NBA player Kris Humphries whose wedding to Kim was part of a two-part KUWTK special. The marriage only lasted a little more than a month and was criticized for appearing to be publicity stunt for the Kardashians.
Before Khloe hooked up with Tristan, she was previously married to Lamar Odom, once a star player for the LA Lakers who was reportedly unfaithful to her and who wound up barely surviving an overdose in a Nevada brothel in 2015.
After Odom, Khloe dated Houston Rockets’ James Harden, who didn’t like the spotlight and who told Sports Illustrated that his time with Khloe was the “worst” year of his life.
