Netflix, Pandora gain in a weak stock-trading session

Investors might not have completely slept through Friday’s stock-market trading session, but based on how the nation’s leading market gauges performed, it seemed like Wall Street did take a nap at some point during the day.
The tech-focused Nasdaq Composite Index, which includes local heavyweights like Apple, Cisco Systems and Intel, slipped by 2.2 points to end the day at 6,387.75. The blue chip Dow Jones Industrial Average gave up 31 points, or 0.1 percent, to finish the week at 21,580.07 and the broad-based Standard & Poor’s 500 Index gave up less than 1 point to finish at 2,472.54.
There were a few decent standouts Friday, as Netflix shares rose 2.7 percent, to close at $188.54. Pandora Media climbed 3.6 percent, to $9.47, and Square rose 1.7 percent to $26.85.
But, decliners held the high ground, with Twitter off by 2 percent, to close at $20.11. Other mild losses came from Salesforce.com, TiVo, Oracle and Apple.
