Mendocino County Board of Supervisors to hear health advisory report, discuss fire agency funding, cannabis

The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to accept a presentation from the Behavioral Health Advisory Board, regarding its 2016-17 annual report, at Tuesday's meeting. The annual report covers the period of July 2016 through December 2017. Jan McGourty, Behavioral Health Advisory Board chairwoman, stated in a summary of the report to the supervisors that a significant milestone occurred last year when the advisory board voted to include substance abuse into its mission as a co-occurring disorder with mental illness She indicated the board lost several people this year because of health issues, however all vacancies have been filled, and the board will be planning easier accessibility for the future.
