Robbers injure 72-year-old Alameda woman in purse snatching

ALAMEDA — A 72-year-old Alameda woman was injured when she was knocked to the ground as her purse was snatched Tuesday on Santa Clara Avenue.
The robbery happened about 1:30 p.m. in the 500 block of the street.
Alameda police Lt. Hoshmand Durani described the woman’s injuries as non-life threatening.

A detailed description of the suspects was not available. Two are men between 20 and 25 years old. The third suspect was a woman also between 20 and 25 years old, with long curly hair in a pony tail.
The group fled the scene in a 2008-2010 Toyota Highlander with a light colored top and primer black body with a silver roof rack, Durani said.
The SUV had yellow dealership paper plates with black writing that read “Longo.” It also had rear tinted windows and a FastTrack device affixed to the upper middle of the windshield.
The vehicle was last seen heading towards Fifth Street, Durani said.
