Fatal motorcycle crash victim in the Temecula area is identified

TEMECULA — The Riverside County coroner’s office Saturday released the name of a man killed when his motorcycle went off a roadway and tumbled down a hillside in the Temecula area.
He was David Williams, 41, of Temecula, the coroner’s office said.
The crash occurred at about 5:15 p.m. Friday near the intersection of East Benton and Ruth roads, California Highway Patrol officials said.
Williams was riding a 1994 Harley Davidson westbound on East Benton Road when for unknown reasons the motorcycle veered across the eastbound lanes, hit a raised asphalt curb and went down a dirt hillside, according to the CHP.
The motorcycle then overturned, ejecting him. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was wearing safety equipment at the time, the CHP said.
