TV tonight: “Jane” on Nat Geo an amazing film about Jane Goodall

TV picks for Monday, March 12
WATCH THIS:
“Jane” (8 p.m., Nat Geo and Nat Geo Wild): This highly acclaimed documentary, from director Brett Morgen, makes its broadcast debut.  Drawing from over 100 hours of never-before-seen footage shot in Tanzania’s Gombe National Park in the 1960s, it tells the story of Jane Goodall, a young untrained woman, without a college education, who ventured to Africa and came away with a chimpanzee research study that challenged the male-dominated scientific consensus of her time and revolutionized our understanding of the natural world.

“Man With a Plan” (8:30 p.m., CBS): Adam attempts to organize a birthday dinner for Andi and he discovers that managing guests isn’t easy. Jenna Dewan Tatum returns as Jen, Lowell’s wife, and Sherri Shepherd and Tim Meadows return as Joy and Rudy Randall, Adam and Andi’s neighbors.
“Mary Kills People” (9 p.m., Lifetime): Season 2 of this dark dramedy continues to follow Mary Harris (Caroline Dhavernas), an ER doctor by day and an underground angel of death by night. She secretly helps, with the help of her partner Des, to euthanize terminally ill patients who want to die on their own terms.
“The Resident” (9 p.m., Fox):  Conrad goes head-to-head with Lane when he disagrees with her over a treatment plan for a terminal cancer patient. Also, tensions rise when Jude inserts himself in the middle by offering to perform the invasive procedure Conrad is fighting against.
“Spring Baking Championship” (9 p.m., Food Network): Well, this takes the cake. The culinary competition returns with 10 new contestants vying for $50,000. Please resist the urge to lick your TV screen.
“The Good Doctor” (10 p.m., ABC):  When the team treats a patient who has to decide between a dangerous surgery that could change his life or remain the same, he asks Dr. Shaun Murphy what he would if he had that same choice.
