El Cerrito police calls: Suspects pour milk, soda, juice inside during residential burglary

Saturday, Feb. 10
Auto burglary: Someone smashed a car window and stole a backpack at the Denny’s, 11344 San Pablo Ave.
Commercial burglary: At 1:15 p.m., police responded to the construction site at 10860 San Pablo Ave. because an alarm and heard noises coming from the third floor of the southwest building. Officers searched the building and found a 20-year-old transient woman on the third floor, who was in possession of stolen property. She was subsequently arrested and booked.
Attempted robbery: At about 2:29 p.m., police reported a black male, about 30 years old, 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, with dreadlocks, a gray baseball cap and gray and black sweatshirt attempted to yank away a purse at Rubio’s, 5010 El Cerrito Plaza. The victim fought back and was knocked to the ground and then stepped on by the suspect. The suspect fled in a silver 2000s Audi with paper plates. The driver was a black male in his 20s.
Monday, Feb. 12
Warrant: At 9:46 a.m., a 49-year-old Richmond man who was wanted by the state Department of Corrections, was arrested at the Starbucks, 11861 San Pablo Ave.
Residential burglary:  Someone kicked the lower story front door and ransacked a house at the 2500 block of Mira Vista Drive.
Tuesday, Feb. 13
Warrant, possess stolen property, trespassing: A 36-year-old male suspect was arrested at the 500 block of Lexington Avenue on a misdemeanor warrant out of Contra Costa County. A vehicle in the apartment complex’s parking garage had the door open and the suspect had a remote garage opener from the vehicle.
Wednesday, Feb. 14
Warrant: A 50-year-old male transient was arrested on a Contra Costa County warrant at Central Avenue and Pierce Street and a search uncovered methamphetamine and a pipe.

Warrant:  A 23-year-old man was arrested on a San Francisco warrant at the Walgreens at Cutting Boulevard and S. 49th Street.
Thursday, Feb. 15
Stolen vehicle: A 1995 Honda Accord was stolen at 225 El Cerrito Plaza between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
Warrant, shoplifting, grand theft, conspiracy: Two 21-year-old females from San Francisco were detained in front of the CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave. around 9:05 p.m. A 33-year-old man from Antioch was detained as he tried to walk out of the parking lot. The two females had $1,400 in stolen medication in two duffel bags. The male had been helping them load the duffel bags inside the store. One female was wanted on three warrants, two from Contra Costa and one from San Francisco. The second female was wanted on a San Mateo warrant. A search of the vehicle revealed $1,300 in stolen medication which was stolen from WalMart in Richmond. All three were arrested
Friday, Feb. 16
Auto burglary: Someone overnight smashed a car window and stole property from a vehicle at Nation’s, 6060 Central Ave.
Warrant: A 32-year-old man was arrested on three misdemeanor warrants at Central Avenue and Pierce Street.
Residential burglary: Suspects pried open the front door and stole property from a house at the 2300 block of Carquinez Ave.
Residential burglary: Suspects kicked in the rear door of a residence at Potrero Avenue and Arlington Boulevard and stole property.
Warrant: A 42-year-old Sacramento man was arrested at S. 52nd and Victor Avenue.
Recovered stolen vehicle:  A 1998 Honda Civic, which was reported stolen to Emeryville police on Feb. 15, was recovered at the 6000 block of El Cerrito Plaza.

Saturday, Feb. 17
Auto burglary: Someone broke the rear window of a Subaru between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. and rifled the interior at the 7700 block of Terrace Drive. There was no loss.
Warrant: A 32-year-old Albany man was arrested on a felony warrant at the Starbucks in El Cerrito Plaza.
Residential burglary: A neighbor reported seeing two juveniles coming out of the front door of the residence on the 1400 block of Everett Street. The suspects entered by cutting the rear metal screen door and unlocking it from inside and kicking the wooden door. The interior of the house was ransacked, with furniture upended and drawers thrown into the hallway. The suspects also poured milk, juice and soda all over the floor, walls and furniture before fleeing.
