One man wounded in East Oakland shooting

OAKLAND — A man was shot Sunday night while sitting in his parked car in East Oakland and another man escaped  injury earlier in the day when a shot fired at him by a man who had just robbed him missed, police said.
The shooting where the man was wounded happened about 10:49 p.m. Sunday in the 7400 block of Weld Street.
A 27-yer-old man said he was sitting in his parked car when someone outside the vehicle began shooting at him.  He was hit in the lower body and was able to drive himself to a hospital.
Police don’t have a motive for the shooting and have not made any arrests.
The other incident happened about 4:40 p.m. Sunday in the area of 33rd Avenue and East 17th street in the Fruitvale district.
Police said a man was walking to his car when he was confronted by more than one suspect who robbed him of cash.
After the man was robbed one of the suspects shot at him but missed, police said.
The robbers fled before police arrived.
