Rattlesnake bites man hiking in Lime Ridge Open Space in Concord

CONCORD — A man was recovering Monday, after a rattlesnake bit him during a weekend walk in the Lime Ridge Open space, officials said.
The 33-year-old hiker was out around 4:40 p.m. Sunday when the snake bit him, police said. He was on top of a hill and unable to get down.
Officers hiked to the top of the hill and provided assistance. Fire crews also came to the scene, with one of their engines going up the hill to help bring the man to paramedics, police said.
An ambulance took the man to a hospital. He is expected to recover, officials said.
