Coroner IDs Riverside man killed when his vehicle hit a tree

RIVERSIDE — The Riverside County coroner’s office released the name of a man killed Saturday in a violent crash in Riverside when he lost control of his car and it slammed into a tree.
The crash occurred at about 6 a.m. at the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Royal Hill Drive, in an area surrounded by residential neighborhoods, said Riverside Police Officer Ryan Railsback.
Ian Barraza, 34, of Riverside was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, according to Railsback.
The eastbound side of Alessandro Boulevard was closed several hours between Fairview and Arlington avenues for the investigation, Railsback said.
