Robber gets picture taken before Dairy Queen heist in Redlands

A man who robbed a Dairy Queen in Redlands decided he first needed a pair of gloves, a detour that police hope will help the public identify the bandit.
The crime happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at 664 E. Redlands Blvd., Redlands police said in a news release. The man used a knife to threaten the clerk and then escaped with cash.
Before that, however, surveillance video from a business next door showed the suspect purchasing a pair of black Diesel gloves. The video can be viewed at the Police Department’s YouTube channel, https://youtu.be/erIhzI3x0D4 .

The robber is described as a white man, 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-6 with a thin build. He was wearing a dark jacket with a gray hood and a black bandana or rag over his face.
Investigators ask anyone who recognizes the man to contact Detective Matt Friesen at mfriesen@redlandspolice.org or 909-798-7681, ext. 1.
