Letter: Colorado River fiasco should be a lesson to those backing California’s WaterFix

Colorado River fiasco an
apt environmental lesson
Let me get this straight, the WaterFix solution is to address the crumbling Delta levee infrastructure and deliver water to points south for a cost of $650 million to Santa Clara Valley Water District ratepayers.
Two questions need to be asked: 1) Why isn’t the emphasis on repairing the levees (instead of controlling water-flow/levels)? 2) What has Southern California ever done for Northern California?

The Colorado River fiasco should be a lesson on environmental impact. Ignoring the fragility of the Delta is a disaster in the waiting and second only to the disaster known as the Santa Clara Valley Water District Board.
