Antioch: Armed carjacking suspect arrested Friday night after brief pursuit

A 19 year old suspect was arrested and booked for armed carjacking and other charges in Antioch on Friday night after a brief pursuit from the police, according to the Antioch Police Department.
Around 8:35 p.m. in the area of Hillcrest Avenue and Larkspur Drive, the 19 year old suspect pointed a gun at another 19 year old male victim inside his car and forced him out of the car. After the carjacking, the suspect fled the area, according to authorities.
After the police located the stolen vehicle, the suspect tried to evade the police but almost immediately crashed his car into two cars in the roadway nearby 4800 block of Lone Tree Way. The suspect tried to flee on foot but he was quickly caught.
A loaded semi-automatic handgun was found near the suspect after he tried to discard it while fleeing.
The suspect, who resides in Antioch, was arrested and booked on armed carjacking, possession of loaded/concealed firearm, and evading the police.
The occupants of the two vehicles which was crashed by the suspect declined medical assistance.
