Scholarships for Key Club members at three Riverside high schools

The Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside honored seven scholarship winners May 15 at a dinner at the Canyon Crest Country Club.
The winners are members of Key Clubs at Ramona High School, John W. North High School and Woodcrest Christian High School, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside.
They are Veronica Nguyen of Woodcrest Christian High School; Paola Garcia, Jasmin Sanson Jorge Pineda and Johan Sanchez of Ramona High School; and Jiwon Shin and Soo J. Lee of John W. North High School. The combined grade-point average for the group is 4.02.
The club awarded a total of $8,000 in scholarships. Money raised at their annual Riverside’s Got Talent made the awards possible.
The students announced their chosen colleges and majors. They are: Veronica Nguyen, Loyola Marymount College, political science; Paola Garcia, San Diego State University, international business; Jasmin Sanson, Cal Baptist University, biology and medicine; Jorge Pineda, San Diego State University, mechanical engineering and business; Johan Sanchez, Hope University in Fullerton, psychology; Jiwon Shin, UC Berkeley, psychiatry. Soo J. Lee was unable to attend the dinner.
