Letter: Will this superintendent candidate default to supporting teachers regardless?

Will Hanson’s default be to
back teachers or children?
Cheryl Hanson is running for County Superintendent of Schools. Her endorsements are highlighted by support from teacher and classified unions. This probably helped her get on the Mt. Diablo school district board.
The problem is the superintendent at the county has many competing interests: federal and state mandates, 17 districts, parents, technology, gender and racial equity, special ed and bullying as well as school choice and expulsions.

If her default is to support teachers regardless, I don’t think she’ll do well for children.
