School board allocates $751,600 to amping up school surveillance system

Chico >> New security cameras at Pleasant Valley High and Bidwell Junior High helped nab an alleged burglar in 2016. It's a tool that works, Chico Unified School District officials say, and now the district is amping up its surveillance system. The Chico Unified board of trustees on Wednesday approved a three-year $751,600 spending plan to continue phase-in of security camera installation at district schools.
