San Bernardino detectives are still searching for the person who killed a Garden Grove man Friday night following a confrontation between the victim and several men, officials said Monday.
Officers received a 911 call reporting a shooting around 10:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, in the 1200 block of West Eighth Street, according to a San Bernardino police news release.
Officers found a man, later identified as 31-year-old Alejandro Cheluca Rojas of Garden Grove, with at least gunshot wound, officials said. Paramedics took Rojas to an area hospital where he later died.
Through an investigation, homicide detectives learned Rojas was approached by several men. A fight broke out which escalated into the fatal shooting, officials said. A motive for the shooting was not released Monday morning.
The San Bernardino Police Department’s Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s assistance with this case and ask anyone with information to call 909-384-5762 or 909-384-5613.
