Major-injury collision shuts down Highway 4 in Antioch

ANTIOCH — A major-injury collision involving several vehicles shut down Highway 4 in Antioch late Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported in westbound lanes just east of Hillcrest Avenue at about 10:35 p.m., said CHP Officer Damian Cistaro.

Cistaro said the collision involved at least three vehicles and resulted in major injuries.
Three helicopters were dispatched to the scene.
The CHP shut down the highway at about 10:45 p.m. At least one lane was expected to reopen shortly before midnight, Cistaro said.
