Man killed on anniversary trip when Uber car is hit near Yountville

A San Francisco man celebrating his first wedding anniversary was killed Saturday night when the Uber car in which he and his wife were riding was struck by another car near Yountville.
Jaryd Anthony Dock, 28, and his wife, Sara Tashakorinia, 27, were riding from the Wine Country Inn in St. Helena to Morimoto restaurant in Napa, said Capt. Steve Blower of the Napa County Sheriff’s Office. The car, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata, was driven by a 48-year-old man from Vacaville.
About 10 miles into the trip, the Hyundai was southbound on Highway 29 north of Washington Street when it was involved in a three-vehicle collision. A  northbound 2012 Dodge Avenger driven by a 53-year-old Angwin woman crossed the double yellow lines on a right-hand curve and sideswiped the left side of a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 truck, California Highway Patrol officials said. The Avenger then struck the Hyundai head-on, according to the CHP.

Dock was killed. His wife, the Uber driver and the Avenger’s driver suffered major injuries and were taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center. The Dodge Ram driver was not injured.
CHP officials said neither driver was impaired. The Dodge Avenger driver said she left work at a steakhouse in Napa before the collision, Blower said. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
