Dirt bike collision kills one man, injures another in East Oakland

OAKLAND — One man was killed and another injured Monday night in a head-on collision between two dirt bikes in East Oakland, police said Tuesday.
The name of the man killed, a 21-year-old Oakland resident.  was not released pending notification of relatives.  The name of the man injured, also a 21-year-old Oakland resident, was not released.
The collision happened about 9:12 p.m.  Monday in the 3200 block of Courtland Avenue.
Police said the two dirt bikes were speeding when they collided head-on ejecting both riders.
Police said neither man was wearing a helmet.
The man killed was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was taken to a hospital  with serious injuries but was in stable condition, police said.
The collision is still under investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to call police traffic investigators at 510-777-8570.
