Caitlyn Jenner laments relationship with her children, Kardashians: ‘They’ve all moved on’

Caitlyn Jenner reflected on the difficulties she has endured since her 2015 gender transition in a lengthy profile by Broadly . Among the topics covered was Jenner’s conservative politics, her fractured relationship with the LGBTQ community, her transition and her Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, which provides assistance to transgender organizations in the Los Angeles area.
Jenner, 68, was also open about how she and her children and step-children have grown apart, and seemed to be expressing hope for some sort of reconciliation.
“I spend a lot of time by myself here in the house,” Jenner said. “I have a lot of children, but sometimes just because of circumstances, maintaining a close relationship with your kids is very tough. They all have lives. They’ve all moved on.”
“We’re just human beings; we’re going to be here for a very short time,” Caitlyn added. “We come and we go and at the end, when it’s all said and done, hopefully your family is going to be there.”
Jenner has six children — son Burt, 39, and daughter Cassandra, 37, with first wife Chrystie Crownover; sons Brandon, 36, and Brody, 34, with second wife Linda Thompson; and daughters Kendall, 22, and Kylie, 20, with third wife Kris Jenner. He also played a prominent role as step-father to Kris Jenner’s daughters Kourtney Kardashian, 39, Kim Kardashian West, 37, Kourtney Kardashian, 33, and son Rob Kardashian, 31.
But these days, Caitlyn Jenner says she spends much of her time alone in her Malibu home, with only her dog Bertha as company.
Jenner remains in contact with Kendall and Kylie, but is estranged from Kris Jenner and her daughters, mainly because of Caitlyn’s memoir, “The Secrets of My Life,” according to People . In the 2017 tell-all book, Caitlyn Jenner claimed Kris Jenner knew more about Caitlyn’s gender identity crisis than she let on, which Caitlyn reiterated in the Broadly interview.

When she met Kris, Caitlyn said she had been taking cross-sex hormone therapy and had breasts (“A little B-cup”).
“Kris and I got married and I kind of hid it the best that I could,” she said.
“When Kendall was born, I had liposuction and got rid of (my breasts),” Caitlyn continued. “Because I thought, I can’t even go swimming with my kid.”
She had to put her transition on hold.
“I cried. But I also had made the decision; it wasn’t time. I still had kids to raise,” she said.

Caitlyn also discussed her antagonistic relationship with the LGBTQ community. She is a longtime Republican who voted for Donald Trump, and many in the transgender community are unable to reconcile her support for a political party that they believe has stymied their progress.
“I got the trans community out there bashing on me, I got the Kardashians out there bashing on me,” Jenner said. “All I do is sit here in the house and try to stay out of trouble.”
