OAKLAND — Several suspects were in custody Tuesday after a high-speed pursuit along city streets and highways during the afternoon rush hour on Interstate 980, authorities said.
Around 4 p.m., officers in the 6900 block of Hawley Street saw a vehicle possibly connected to an earlier robbery, Oakland police Officer Felicia Aisthorpe said.
When officers tried to stop the vehicle, its driver fled. Officers pursued it for several miles until they were able to stop it in lanes of Interstate 980, Aisthorpe said.
Police would not release additional details, citing an ongoing investigation.
