As Californians, we have some of the strongest gun safety laws in the country yet even these laws aren’t enough to stop the interstate movement of guns, the illegal acquisition and unsafe storage of guns, the continuing production of devices designed to circumvent our laws or the use of guns by dangerous people.
As a result of Congressional inaction, 96 people per day are killed by guns in the United States.
June 1-3 is Gun Violence Awareness weekend. There is a march across the Golden Gate Bridge on Saturday, June 2, starting at the San Francisco Welcome Center at noon.
