The May 19 article featuring the first graduating class from Cristo Rey Jesuit High School (“How 100 low-income students meet goals,” Page B1) is a powerful reminder of the importance of opportunity and quality education for the future of our society.

It is inspiring to see so much hope in the voices of these young people; kudos to their parents and the faculty and staff at Cristo Rey for nurturing that hope. Maybe the story will prompt some of your readers to donate to Cristo Rey scholarships and to explore becoming an employer for their students.
