Police arrest two in attempted murder at South Bay eatery

MILPITAS — Two South Bay men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing at a Milpitas fast food restaurant late last month, police said Wednesday.
Officers found the 51-year-old victim about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 30 when they went to check out a report of a disturbance and vandalism at the Jack in the Box at 1740 South Main St. in Milpitas. The injury was described as serious and required medical attention.

Witnesses helped detectives identify 19-year-old Osbaldo Alejandro Cobos, of Alviso, and 20-year-old Jose Ignacio Gonzalez, of San Jose, as suspects in the stabbing.
Detectives arrested Gonzalez without incident as he left his home on the night of Aug. 31, according to police.
Cobos allegedly tried to run from authorities when they went to arrest him at his home on Sept. 4. Police said he eventually surrendered and was arrested without incident.
Gonzalez and Cobos were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on attempted murder charges.
