Corona band will rock at Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Murrieta

Susan G. Komen Inland Empire’s Race for the Cure is set for Sunday, Oct. 14, and this year’s participants will see a concert from  Cougrzz Rock .
The all-female, Corona-based, band has donated its time and will perform at the 8:30 a.m. event, set for Murrieta’s Town Square Park. The band will play as walkers and runners begin and return from their 3-mile route or 1-mile treks through downtown Murrieta.
“Performing means supporting women in their time of need, raising them up and carrying them on our shoulders,” Chrissy Marquez, Cougrzz Rock’s drummer and manager, said in a news release. “We’re all sisters, we’re all connected, and we all need each other at some point in our lifetime.”
Cougrzz Rock plays Top 40 dance music, Latin, R&B, hip hop, classic rock and other popular music. The group was recognized in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 as the Inland Empire Magazine Band of the Year. It also was honored as the Best Cover Band at the Wine Country Music Awards in 2017 and named the Best Cover Band at the Temecula Valley Music Awards in 2016.
Sunday’s event, which raises money for breast cancer patients across the Inland area, will mark the second year at Town Square Park.
