Fontana man killed in Highway 18 crash near Running Springs

A Fontana man was killed Tuesday, Nov. 13, when he crashed on Highway 18 in the San Bernardino Mountains, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened about 2:15 p.m. east of Soutar Drive in the Running Springs area.
The driver, who has not been publicly identified, was driving a 2002 Toyota Tacoma pickup east at an unknown speed when he drifted into the westbound lane. He then overcorrected to the right, causing him to lose control of the pickup, the CHP said in a news release.
The pickup overturned, struck a guardrail, went off the highway about 40 feet and came to rest against a tree, the CHP said.
