Harlem Globetrotters whistle back to the Bay Area

What, you think the Warriors are the only ones around who can sink three-pointers with seconds on the clock?
Meet the Harlem Globetrotters , the team that introduced smooth moves to the game of basketball decades ago.
When you hear the whistling of “Sweet Georgia Brown,” it can mean only one thing: The men and women who make up today’s Globetrotters are in the Bay Area for their annual winter stand. Now playing on the team is former Stanford star Lili Thompson .
They’ll be at Oakland’s Oracle Arena at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, and then again at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. San Jose’s SAP Center gets the theatrics at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, and noon on Monday, Jan. 21, the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Between those Bay Area stops, the Globetrotters will appear at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center and at Santa Rosa Junior College.
By the way, the Globetrotters are already perfecting the four-pointer, scoring shots from 6 feet beyond the NBA’s three-point line.
