Placer Sheriff: Suspect Shot At I-80 And Hwy 65, Freeway Closed

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — The Placer County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting on westbound Interstate 80 and Highway 65 near Roseville Tuesday evening.
The sheriff’s department said the incident started with reports of shots fired in a residential neighborhood in Loomis.
Then, according to deputies, the suspect opened fire at multiple locations in Loomis and Newcastle.
The number of people shot and their conditions are not known just yet, but deputies located the suspect on westbound I-80. Gunfire was exchanged there and the suspect was shot.
The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time.
Officials say no deputies were hurt, but a K-9 officer was shot.
The westbound lanes of I-80 at Hwy 65 remain closed as law enforcement process the scene.
Multiple agencies, including Roseville and Rocklin Police, responded to the incident.
