Traffic stop in Antioch reveals passenger with loaded gun

ANTIOCH — A traffic stop Sunday night turned into the discovery of a passenger who had a loaded gun, police said.
Police arrested the person without incident. They did not identify the person, who they said was booked into the county jail in Martinez on drug and weapons charges. Officers also found narcotics, police said.
It happened when an officer pulled over the vehicle at A Street near Belshaw Street around 8:30 p.m. The officer discovered the gun and narcotics on the passenger while talking to the occupants in the vehicle, police said.
No other information was available immediately.
