‘Heart’s Delight’ benefit
The local chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa is hosting “Valley of Heart’s Delight,” a March 2 fashion show, luncheon and boutique, at Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, 728 W. Fremont Ave. The boutique will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m., with the luncheon at 11:30 a.m.
Alpha Delta Kappa is an international organization of women educators that supports altruistic projects for families and children. Contributions also support LifeMoves (Breaking the Cycle of Homelessness), Sunnyvale Community Services and the YWCA Support Network for Battered Women.
Tickets are $37. Checks payable to ADK should be mailed to Cathy Shim, 955 Pomeroy Ave., Santa Clara.
Supportive board members sought
Santa Clara County is seeking members for its Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Board.
The In-Home Supportive Services program is a federal, state, and locally funded program designed to provide assistance to eligible elderly, blind, and disabled individuals who, without this care, would be unable to remain safely in their own homes.
The program provides services according to the recipient’s ability to perform daily activities, and can include feeding, bathing, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, meal preparation and cleanup, as well as health-related assistance such as accompaniment to medical appointments, paramedical services, and protective supervision.
