Recovering Heather Locklear looks ‘happy’ and healthy as she delights in rare L.A. snow

After a tumultuous 2018 that included run-ins with the law, suicide threats and a possible overdose, Heather Locklear looked happy and healthy in a video she posted of herself, delighting in a rare flurry of snow that fell on Southern California Thursday.
The actress posted an Instagram photo of herself with her small dog “Mister,” apparently walking outside her Thousand Oaks home as flakes swirl around her. Dressed in black leggings and a gray sweat shirt, Locklear, 57, holds out her hand, thinking it might actually be a little rain. “It’s snowing,” she realizes. “It’s snowing! Mister, it’s your first snow!”

Snow, pushed by an chilly storm system that originated in Alberta, Canada, fell on parts of Southern California Thursday, including Malibu, Pasadena, West Hollywood and other unexpected places, the Los Angeles Times reported. That also includes Locklear’s hometown of Thousand Oaks, as well as Calabasas, the home of Kylie Jenner and other Kardashians.
The snow level hit the 1,000-foot mark, lightly blanketing neighborhoods that had not seen snow in decades, the Los Angeles Times added. However, the snow didn’t last too long, with the sun melting some flakes even before they hit the ground.
But the snow, however fleeting, brought an outpouring of social media posts from people in the Los Angeles area and other celebrities, including Kylie Jenner, who posted a video to Instagram story of snowflakes hitting a friend’s sweatshirt, according to People . She wrote, “This is crazy!”
Jerry O’Connell, from Calabasas, said on Instagram that he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
O’Connell then took a shot at the latest Kardashian family scandal, which involves Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods being allegedly caught hooking up over the weekend with Khloe Kardashian’s boyfriend Tristan Thompson. Kylie Jenner reportedly kicked Woods out of her home after Khloe Kardashian broke up with Thompson.
O’Connell said, “Okay? Calabasas, California where the Kardashians live, where Jordyn used to live, it is snowing right now. Look at this.”

As for Locklear, her snow video brought a stream of comments from fans who said it was good to see her looking so “happy” after so many months of reports about her ongoing crises with substance abuse and mental health issues. People wrote, “looking so beautiful,” and “I am sooo proud of what you are doing. … You are a beautiful, loving soul.”
It was reported in January that the “Melrose Place” star had left a long-term rehab stint over the Christmas holidays and returned home, hoping to work on her recovery in the familiar out-patient surroundings of her own home and “under a doctor’s care.”
Locklear reportedly is hoping for a more balanced and healthy 2019, after more than a year of a downward spiral that included multiple 911 calls, run-ins with the law and time in rehab. One way that Locklear was hoping to get past her troubles was by breaking up with her on-off boyfriend Chris Heisser, People reported.

“She’s doing great,” a friend told People in January. “She has her parents staying with her, which has been great for everyone truly close to her. The fact that her parents are now staying with her is a good development and comforting.”
Locklear also was not spending time with “anybody who is not a good influence,” the friend said.
That apparently meant Heisser, a former high school boyfriend who came back into her life about two and a half years ago, according to reports.
