An elderly woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle in Chino on Saturday morning, March 9, authorities said.
Chino police responded to the crash just before 7 a.m. on Riverside Drive just east of Oaks Avenue, Sgt. Mark Layton said.
The victim was a woman believed to be in her 80s and she was not in a crosswalk when she was struck, Layton said. She had not yet been identified.
The female driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. She was not believed to be under the influence and was not arrested, Layton said.
Riverside Drive was closed from Oaks Avenue to Ross Avenue for about six hours while police investigated. The street was reopened just after 1 p.m., Layton said.
