Man dies after rescuing people from burning mobile home in Highland

A man died after rescuing people from a mobile home that burned down in Highland early Saturday, March 9.
Firefighters responded at 12:13 a.m. to reports of a fire on the 7200 block of Sterling Avenue, according to news releases from Cal Fire San Bernardino and the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office. There, crews found four people who had been evacuated from a home after suffering mild to moderate injuries.
A bystander who helped occupants escape died before firefighters arrived. Coroners officials withheld the release of his identity, pending the notification of his relatives.
