San Francisco NorCal California Rugged Maniac: 8:30 a.m. March 23, Alameda County Fairgrounds, 4501 Pleasanton Ave., Pleasanton. This three-mile course with 20-plus obstacles includes a three-story water slide, trampolines and a fire jump — and a festival in the middle with a DJ and beer, mechanical bulls, dance-offs, pie-eating and more. $79.
Inflatable Run & Festival: 8 a.m.-2 p.m.  March 30, Solano County Fairgrounds, 900 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo. Run with the entire family on an inflatable obstacle course. The 5K is broken up into 1 mile laps. Obstacle course race for kids ages 5-16 involves 13 to 15 obstacles that range in difficulty. Utterly Fun Beer Run: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. May 4, East Main and McClellan Streets, Vacaville. Not everyone is a runner. Register for this 0.5K — a two-block race — and receive cow chips to redeem for beer or a non-alcoholic beverage, a T-shirt and a medal. If you can’t make the entire 0.5K, stop in the middle for sweet treats or take Moober to Town Square. $26.50.
Foam Glow: Time to be determined, May 17, Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose. This fun-filled 5K sends glowing foam and black lights across the race course, followed by an after party filled with music and more foam glow and black lights. Wear a white T-shirt to the start line. By the time you get to the finish, you’ll look like you fell in a tie-dye machine. Ticket price includes an event T-shirt and donation to local charity. $50.
Bubble Run: 8 a.m. May 18, Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose. Clad in white T-shirts, run, walk, dance and play across 3 miles of fun. Race waves start every three to five minutes. Every kilometer, participants will run through a Foam Bog where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe. $50.
Bay to Breakers: Time to be determined, May 19, Main and Howard streets, San Francisco. This 12K race runs through the city and finishes at the Great Highway. Health and Wellness expo, finish line festival, on-course entertainment and festivities include live bands, DJ’s and performances to keep runners motivated. Sugar Rush Donut Challenge: 8-11 a.m. May 25, Almaden Lake Park, 6099 Winfield Blvd., San Jose. Enjoy Krispy Kreme Donuts at every mile of this race. Activities planned for young and old alike. $24.99-$60.
Benicia Panther Pride Color Vibe Run: 10:30 a.m. May 25, Benicia. Runners have 90 minutes to finish this 2-mile course. There will be food, music and plenty of color, so bring white clothes, sunglasses, towel, change of clothes, baby wipes, bandana and a plastic bag for your phone, shoes and clothes. $15.
Wine Run 5K – Four Fools Winery: 10 a.m. June 15, 13 Pacific Ave., Rodeo. Enjoy scenic views of Rodeo and the San Francisco Bay Trail on this 5K run. Spectators can choose the 0K option. Registration fees include a race t-shirt, souvenir wine glass and  free glass of wine. $10-$20.
Michelob Ultra Rock ‘N’ Roll: Oct. 5-6, San Jose. 10K, 5K, Kids Rock and half marathon through Silicon Valley. The course is packed with live music, entertainment, cheer teams and dance squads. $32-$92.
