CHP investigating possible Highway 24 shooting

OAKLAND — A man was shot Tuesday morning apparently as he drove on Highway 24, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officers found the wounded man about 6:30 a.m. after he stopped his car on the connector ramp between westbound Highway 24 and southbound Highway 13, west of the Caldecott Tunnel.
He was taken to a hospital with wounds not considered life-threatening, authorities said. No other information was released about the man.
CHP Officer Herman Basa  said investigators are still trying to determine exactly where the man was shot.  Freeway lanes were briefly shut down and the tunnel was searched for shell casings but none were apparently found.
Investigators were hoping to interview the man to get more information.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the CHP at 1-800-TELLCHP.
