Early Morning Deputy-Involved Shooting Ended In Arrest

An early morning deputy-involved shooting ended in the arrest of an unidentified male, authorities announced Tuesday.
The shooting occurred just after 5 a.m. while deputies assisted Desert Hot Springs police in the 67600 block of San Gorgonio Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
“No citizens, officers or deputies were injured,” the sheriff’s department tweeted.
An unidentified Hispanic male was taken into custody following the shooting, according to reports.
Officials did not provide any details regarding what prompted law enforcement to respond to San Gorgonio Street or the cause of the shooting. However, The Desert Sun reported that the suspect was arrested following a standoff.
Officials asked the public to stay away from the scene as an investigation continued throughout the morning.
