Saturday memorial for Bennett Riffel and brother, killed in Ethiopian crash

REDDING — A memorial service is planned for Bennett and Melvin Riffel, the brothers who were killed Sunday in a jetliner crash in Ethiopia.
Bennett Riffel grew up in Redding, but lived and worked in Chico. He was employed by Vista Net as a technician. Related Articles

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 2040 Walnut Ave. in Redding, followed by a celebration of life at the Redding Elks Lodge, 250 Elk Dr.
Melvin Riffel lived and worked in Redding. He and his wife Brittney were expecting a child this spring.
The brothers were among eight Americans who died Sunday when the Ethiopian Airlines flight crashed shortly after takeoff from Addis Ababa on its way to Nairobi, Kenya.
