Five injured, car into a ditch after crash in Discovery Bay

DISCOVERY BAY — Five people were injured Wednesday night in a crash involving two cars on a rural road, a fire official said.
One of the cars ended up in a ditch after the crash, which happened around 11:50 p.m. at the intersection of Bixler and Marsh Creek roads, Battalion Chief Craig Auzenne of the East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said. The other car ended up with severe damage.
Ambulances took all five of those injured to the hospital. All of the injures were deemed minor, Auzenne said.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
