Cesar Chavez Days in Riverside will honor late labor leader

Speeches, an art exhibit, a 5K and cake are part of this year’s annual Cesar Chavez Days in Riverside.
The events, organized by Latino Network, will recognize the life and work of the late labor and civil rights leader.
A highlight will be the 20th annual Cesar E. Chavez Memorial Breakfast on Friday, March 29. The event, which is sold out, will feature a speech by labor activist Eliseo V. Medina, who worked along Chavez and later became the national vice president of the United Farm Workers. He joined the Service Employees International Union in 1986 and served as its international executive vice president, the first Mexican-American elected to a top post in the union, a news release states.
