Woman killed in Redwood City house fire

REDWOOD CITY — A house fire that started in a kitchen killed one person and injured another Saturday night.
Firefighters were called to a fire in a single-story house on Jackson Street at 10:08 p.m. Saturday, Redwood City Fire Chief Stan Maupin said. When they arrived four minutes later, they home’s kitchen was on fire. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 10:36 p.m., but they found a woman deceased in the home, Maupin said.
A man was taken to the hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Maupin said.
